Associate, Private Equity (Pre-MBA, Fixed-Term)

Role overview

AustralianSuper, Australia's largest superannuation fund (over US$300 billion in assets), is hiring a 2-year, pre-MBA fixed-term Associate for its global Private Equity team in New York. Employment commences in August 2027.

Key responsibilities

- Perform due diligence on co-investment and co-underwrite opportunities alongside GP fund managers: review commercial, financial and technology materials, build financial models and sensitivity analyses, and assess key value drivers and risks

- Contribute investment recommendation reports for decision-making forums

- Support monitoring of the co-investment portfolio, including quarterly GP calls and performance and valuation reporting

- Assess PE funds through fund-level and GP-level due diligence and contribute to recommendation reports

- Support relationship management with incumbent and prospective GPs and monitor fund performance quarterly

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field

- 1-3 years of experience in investment banking or a similar financial services role

- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills (LBO, cash flow models); strong research, due diligence and writing skills
