Private Equity Associate

Ariel Alternatives is a growth-oriented private equity firm and the private equity arm of Ariel Investments, currently investing out of its inaugural $1.45 billion fund. The firm targets majority control investments in high-quality B2B services businesses with EBITDA up to $50 million across energy/utilities, industrials, business services, and technology services, with most LPs being Fortune 500 companies. Ariel Alternatives is seeking a Pre-MBA Private Equity Associate, based in its New York City office, to support all aspects of the investment process: deal screening, investment analysis (diligence, financial modeling, market research), transaction execution alongside senior investment professionals, portfolio company management (add-on acquisitions, corporate finance, quarterly reporting), development of marketing materials for LPs and co-investors, and new investment thesis generation. The role calls for 2+ years of investment banking or private equity experience, a bachelor's degree with strong academic performance, solid grounding in modeling/accounting/finance/capital markets, proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and understanding of debt and equity capital structures.
