About This Role

Role Overview

Apollo Global Management is hiring an Associate for its Private Investment Grade (Private IG) team, part of the firm's Global Investment Grade business. The team originates, structures, underwrites and manages illiquid investments across developed markets, with a format-agnostic mandate spanning 4(a)(2) private placements, bilateral and club senior secured loans, forward-flow structures, infrastructure and project finance, and secondary purchases — earning excess spread over comparable public investment grade for the added complexity and illiquidity.

Key Responsibilities

- Support origination, structuring, underwriting and execution of private investment grade transactions across developed markets, working alongside Apollo's IG sector analysts, Performing Credit team, Corporate Solutions, Apterra, ABF, Hybrid Value, risk, legal and insurance solutions groups, plus external advisors and counterparties.

- Build and maintain historical and projected financial models for valuation and transaction cashflow analysis, including scenario/downside cases and structural waterfalls.

- Conduct independent fundamental credit analysis on new transactions — financial statement review, capital structure assessment, industry evaluation and management quality review.

- Prepare and present investment recommendations to the Investment Committee, including credit memos with risk/reward assessment, relative value positioning and covenant analysis.

- Assign and maintain internal credit ratings for new and existing holdings, documenting rating rationale and watch/trigger considerations.

Qualifications

The role requires a high level of technical ability, analytical rigour and creativity, combined with strong financial modelling skills and the ability to work cross-functionally across investment, legal, compliance and operations teams.

Location

London, United Kingdom. Full-time, on-site.
