Senior Associate / VP - Asset Backed Credit

Alexander Chapman is recruiting for a Senior Associate to Vice President level investment professional on behalf of a leading alternative investment platform. The role sits within the firm's Asset Backed Credit and Specialty Finance team in Chicago, Illinois.

The position focuses on sourcing, underwriting, executing, and managing investments across asset-backed, specialty finance, structured credit, and broader private credit opportunities. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and gain meaningful exposure across the full investment lifecycle, from initial deal evaluation through ongoing portfolio management.

Core responsibilities include originating and evaluating asset-backed and specialty finance transactions, building and maintaining detailed financial models to assess investment merits, executing transactions including term sheet negotiation and documentation, and monitoring existing portfolio investments. The role requires strong underwriting and credit analysis capabilities and the ability to evaluate complex credit situations across multiple asset classes.

The ideal candidate brings four to eight or more years of experience in private credit, asset-backed finance, specialty finance, structured credit, investment banking, private equity, or a related investing environment. Strong underwriting, financial modeling, and transaction execution skills are required. Experience with AI tools and technologies that enhance investment research and workflow efficiency is viewed favorably.
