About This Role
Role Overview
Adams Street Partners, a global private markets investment manager with nearly $73 billion in assets under management, is hiring an Associate for its Co-Investment Team in Chicago, IL. The team invests directly into companies alongside leading private equity managers across industries, geographies, and company sizes, and has committed over $7 billion to 300+ companies since 1989. It is currently investing out of its sixth dedicated co-investment fund, alongside capital from other Adams Street funds of funds and separately managed accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the investment execution process, including company/industry due diligence, LBO modeling, and preparation of investment memoranda
- Lead quantitative and qualitative analysis of financial and operating data
- Monitor portfolio companies and maintain internal investment tracking databases
- Support fundraising activities and manage client-facing marketing materials
- Provide general team project management support and contribute to firm-wide ad hoc projects
- Handle internal reporting and analysis
Qualifications
- Graduated from a top-tier undergraduate university
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, buy-side investment analysis, consulting, or sponsor finance
- Advanced Excel skills with strong knowledge of valuation techniques and financial modeling
- Ability to structure and present complex ideas clearly, both in writing and orally
- Strong analytical, modeling, organizational, and writing skills
- Professional presence with strong relationship and communication skills
- Self-starter able to work independently within a team context
Compensation & Location
Based in Chicago, IL. Under Illinois pay transparency rules, the disclosed base salary range is $115,000–$135,000 USD. The role is expected to run 2-3 years, with potential for further promotion for exceptional candidates.
