3M Ventures is hiring an Investment Director to lead its corporate venture capital investment activities at its Minneapolis, MN headquarters.

3M Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of 3M Company, investing in emerging technologies that align with 3M's strategic interests across its diverse industrial and technology portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead 3M venture investments aligned with strategic business interests

- Manage the full investment lifecycle from deal sourcing through portfolio management and exit

- Coach and mentor investment team members

- Collaborate with 3M business leaders to develop deal structures and strategic partnership strategies

- Represent 3M Ventures at industry conferences and in the startup ecosystem

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (minimum)

- Minimum 5 years of Corporate Venture Capital or Venture Capital experience

- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)

- Must be based on-site at 3M Center, Minneapolis (4 days/week)

- Up to 25% domestic and international travel

Preferred Qualifications

- Deep tech investment experience; MBA or technical advanced degree

- Entrepreneurial, strategy, or investment banking background

- Board-level experience with portfolio companies

Compensation

$250,253 – $305,864 base salary plus variable incentive pay. Application window: April 13 – May 13, 2026.
