Analysis

Truelink Capital has successfully concluded its latest fundraising effort, amassing $2.0 billion for its second fund, significantly surpassing its initial target. This oversubscribed vehicle, which hit its hard cap, represents a substantial leap from its predecessor and underscores the firm's growing influence in the private equity landscape. The Los Angeles-based firm, known for its focus on industrial and business services sectors, has now grown its total assets under management to $4.2 billion.

The rapid deployment of capital, achieved in under three months, highlights strong investor confidence in Truelink's operational-centric strategy. Fund II's substantial size, more than double the $950 million raised for Fund I, signals an increased capacity for larger-scale investments and a broader mandate. This expansion comes at a time when the market presents unique opportunities for value creation through strategic operational improvements and targeted M&A.

Todd Golditch, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from a diverse global investor base. This group included prominent pension plans, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, financial institutions, family offices, consultants, and other institutional investors spanning North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and South America. Golditch emphasized the trust placed in the firm as it embarks on this new growth phase.

Echoing this sentiment, Co-Founder and Managing Partner Luke Myers pointed to the current macroeconomic environment as a fertile ground for Truelink's approach. He noted that the confluence of rapid technological shifts, particularly AI-driven changes, and a fluctuating global economy creates dislocations that reward proactive management and operational excellence. Fund II is strategically positioned to identify companies with robust fundamentals, enabling investments at attractive entry points with the aim of driving significant value through commercial acceleration and operational enhancements.

Truelink Capital's strategy is geared towards partnering with high-quality businesses within the industrials and business services domains. The firm's operational playbook focuses on accelerating commercial growth, executing operational transformations, and pursuing strategic add-on acquisitions. This hands-on approach has already yielded results, with the firm announcing five new platform investments in 2025 alone, building upon the 11 platform investments already within its Fund I portfolio.

The firm has meticulously built a dedicated team of over 20 professionals across investment, operations, business development, investor relations, and finance functions, ensuring a robust infrastructure to support its ambitious growth plans. William Blair & Company served as the exclusive placement agent and financial advisor for the fundraise, with Kirkland & Ellis providing legal counsel.
