Treeco Group Acquires Swedish Nursery Plantskolan i Ängelholm

Treeco Group has significantly expanded its footprint in the Nordic green infrastructure sector through the acquisition of Plantskolan i Ängelholm AB. This strategic move integrates one of Sweden's premier independent nurseries into Treeco's growing portfolio, enhancing its capabilities in fruit trees and ornamental plants. The deal underscores Treeco's commitment to consolidating its market leadership across the region.

Plantskolan i Ängelholm, established in 1938, brings a rich legacy of horticultural expertise and a substantial market presence. The company boasts an impressive cultivation of over 150 varieties of fruit trees, alongside a diverse range of berry bushes, ornamental trees, and avenue trees. Serving contractors, municipalities, and retail garden centers, Plantskolan i Ängelholm generated approximately 85 MSEK in revenue last year, supported by a dedicated team of around 45 employees. Its operations also include a retail garden shop featuring locally grown, certified plants.

The integration of Plantskolan i Ängelholm marks a pivotal moment for the family-run business. Jan-Peter Johansson, the outgoing CEO and owner, expressed that joining Treeco Group represents a natural progression, providing the necessary impetus for future growth. Johansson will remain as CEO during the transition period, signifying a smooth handover and continued operational insight. His reinvestment alongside MVI highlights a shared vision for the company's trajectory.

The group now comprises several prominent operations, including Stångby Plantskola, Kortegaards Planteskole, Rögle Plantskola, HPJ Garden, and Gardenr, in addition to the newly acquired Plantskolan i Ängelholm.
