Impact Fund Backs Social Inclusion Ventures with €150K

The impact investment vehicle Scale4Impact, a joint initiative by Fundación Ship2B and Bikai Venture Philanthropy, has concluded its fourth program cycle by allocating a total of €150,000 to two organizations dedicated to fostering social inclusion. This funding round underscores the growing trend of venture philanthropy, blending financial support with strategic guidance to amplify the impact of social enterprises.

The beneficiaries include Fundación GetUp and NeurekaLab, each receiving €75,000. Fundación GetUp focuses on empowering parents, particularly those with young children, to achieve stable and dignified employment. Their 'Get Ready' program offers comprehensive support, enhancing professional, financial, and life skills to bridge the gap to meaningful work. This investment will fuel the expansion of their successful model, aiming to reach a wider demographic facing employment barriers.

NeurekaLab, a technology-driven entity, will utilize its funding to advance its innovative platform. This solution is designed for early detection and intervention for learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD in primary school children aged 5 to 12. By providing educators and specialists with advanced diagnostic tools, NeurekaLab seeks to improve educational outcomes for children at critical developmental stages. The edtech and healthtech sectors are seeing significant investment, with a growing emphasis on personalized and early-stage interventions.

Guillerm Bargalló, program manager at Scale4Impact, highlighted the program's efficiency, stating, “We are immensely proud of the work undertaken by these organizations. This program demonstrates that through 8 months of intensive training and support, coupled with final funding, we can achieve in months what might otherwise take years, thereby amplifying impact and assisting more individuals in a shorter timeframe.” This approach aligns with the broader market's demand for measurable social return on investment.

Beyond direct financial backing, A90Grados, an organization promoting digital well-being and mitigating risks associated with gambling among youth through gamified experiences and educational resources, will receive strategic support. This mentorship aims to solidify their operational model and enhance their societal contribution. Scale4Impact's methodology emphasizes a holistic approach, recognizing that strategic guidance is as crucial as capital for sustainable growth in the social impact sector.

Across its four completed editions, Scale4Impact has supported 22 projects, with 6 receiving direct funding totaling €330,000. The current, fifth edition has seen a record 133 applications from across Spain, signaling robust interest and a maturing ecosystem for social impact ventures in the region. This growth reflects a global shift towards impact investing, where financial returns are pursued alongside positive social and environmental outcomes.
