Saltroad Raises £1.5M for AI-Driven Speech Therapy Expansion

Saltroad, a prominent provider of pediatric speech and language therapy (SLT), has successfully closed a £1.5 million funding round. This significant investment, bolstered by the strategic acquisition of AI documentation specialist Ogma, is set to transform the delivery of essential therapeutic services for children across the UK. The urgent need for accessible SLT services is underscored by stark statistics: approximately one in five children in the UK, totaling around two million, face challenges with speech, language, and communication. This demand far outstrips the current capacity of existing systems, leading to prolonged waiting lists and administrative burdens that detract from direct patient care. Saltroad aims to dismantle these barriers by connecting families with a nationwide network of qualified NHS speech and language therapists, offering a more flexible, timely, and cost-effective alternative to traditional private care.

The integration of Ogma's advanced AI platform is central to Saltroad's scaling strategy. Ogma's technology is designed to streamline the often time-consuming process of clinical note-taking, converting session data into structured, actionable insights.
