S2G Investments has tapped policy veteran Grant Leslie as Operating Partner, Government & Policy, a hire designed to sharpen the firm’s regulatory navigation for its portfolio across food, energy and ocean sectors. The appointment signals a deliberate shift by the investor to bake public‑policy expertise into deal execution and value creation.

Leslie arrives with nearly 15 years in strategic public affairs, most recently leading food‑sector practice work at a global communications firm where she advised corporate, non‑profit and investor clients on advocacy and regulatory strategy. Earlier in her career she served as a senior advisor at the USDA and spent a decade working in the U.S. Senate — experience S2G says will help its companies manage regulatory complexity across markets.

In practice, Leslie will work with operating teams and portfolio leaders to identify regulatory opportunities and risks — from implementation details of the Farm Bill and nutrition programs to renewable energy incentives, rural development measures and export rules. S2G describes policy due diligence as part of its underwriting, and the new role aims to convert policy clarity into faster product launches, access to public incentives and lower execution risk.
