Analysis

Arivihan, India’s first fully automated AI tutoring platform, has raised $4.17 million in a Pre-Series A round led by Prosus Ventures and Accel, with participation from GSF Investors. The company plans to use the funds to scale its platform across rural and Tier 2+ regions, strengthen its AI capabilities, and expand distribution.

Founded in 2024 by IIT Roorkee alumni Ritesh Singh Chandel and Sonu Kumar, along with seasoned educator Rushabh Kothari, Arivihan is building a mobile-first, cost-efficient alternative to traditional coaching for India's 250 million K-12 students. By removing the dependency on live teachers, Arivihan delivers personalized, scalable learning to underserved communities through AI-driven video content, instant doubt-solving, and custom study plans.

India has a massive personalization gap in education, especially in regions where teacher shortages and large classroom sizes persist,” said Dhruv Gupta, Investor at Prosus. “Arivihan is purpose-built to solve this at scale with deep AI personalization and localized content.”

Arivihan previously raised $750,000 through Accel Atoms. The latest round reflects growing interest in AI-first education models across Asia, where scalability and accessibility are key challenges. Arivihan's approach focuses on eliminating the traditional cost barriers of private tutoring, delivering 10x scalability at a fraction of the price.

Arivihan's impact is already measurable: students showed a 42% improvement within 30 days, and over 150 students scored above 90% in recent board exams, with four reaching the top 10 state rankings. Significantly, 80% of paid users come from Tier 3 and rural areas, reinforcing the platform’s ability to bridge socioeconomic and geographic divides.

This funding empowers us to accelerate our mission of democratizing high-quality learning across Bharat,” said Ritesh Singh, Co-founder and CEO. “We are building the infrastructure to ensure that every student, regardless of where they live or how much they earn, can access world-class coaching.”

Arivihan will use the fresh capital to expand its academic team, deepen its NEET prep offerings, and hire across engineering, marketing, and distribution. It plans to build localized go-to-market networks and strengthen its digital presence to deepen user engagement and market penetration.

The deal comes amid a broader wave of investment in AI-native edtech. Across Asia and Africa, VCs are increasingly backing platforms that move beyond live video instruction to automated, scalable learning models powered by AI. Similar trends have been observed in Africa's uLesson and Indonesia's Ruangguru.

Arivihan’s traction could position it as a category-defining company in this space, particularly in a country like India where test preparation and academic performance are tightly linked to economic mobility.

With its funding round complete, Arivihan is now doubling down on distribution and AI research, positioning itself as the leading AI tutoring platform for India’s next 200 million students.
