Pistachio, a specialist in human risk management for small and medium-sized businesses, has significantly expanded its cybersecurity capabilities through the acquisition of Norwegian firm Hugin Cybersecurity AS. This strategic move is set to launch a comprehensive cybersecurity compliance and posture management service, aiming to simplify complex regulatory adherence for growing enterprises.

The newly integrated platform, slated for a 2027 debut, will extend Pistachio's existing focus on mitigating human-driven security vulnerabilities. By incorporating Hugin.io's expertise, the company will now offer tools to manage devices, applications, and provide ambient compliance solutions, ensuring businesses remain secure and audit-ready. This expansion addresses a critical market need, as regulatory burdens like the EU's NIS2 directive and the upcoming UK Cybersecurity and Resilience Bill intensify.

Pistachio, founded in 2023, has differentiated itself by automating personalized security awareness training and phishing simulations, moving away from traditional, less effective annual compliance courses. The acquisition of Hugin.io, which specializes in helping businesses assess, manage, and demonstrate their cybersecurity posture, represents a natural evolution.
