Peter Herweck Joins Warburg Pincus as EIR to Accelerate EU Tech

Warburg Pincus has named Peter Herweck to serve as Executive-in-Residence within its European Technology group, a move designed to sharpen the firm's software and technology assessment in Europe. The appointment signals a renewed emphasis on technology-enabled growth across the region as PE firms seek platform plays in industrial software, automation and energy tech.

Mr. Herweck, who most recently led Schneider Electric as chief executive, brings more than 30 years of global operating leadership in industrial automation, software and energy systems. He previously guided AVEVA as CEO and previously held senior roles at Siemens, including chief strategy officer, providing a rare blend of industrial operations and software strategy for scaling global platforms.

In his new capacity, Mr. Herweck will partner with Warburg Pincus to identify and evaluate investment opportunities across the software and technology spectrum while also contributing to value creation for the firm's portfolio companies. The role leverages his hands-on experience with digital modernization and complex global rollouts, creating connective tissue between industrial know-how and tech-enabled growth. He currently serves as a Non-Executive Director on the board of Teradyne, underscoring his ongoing engagement with tech-enabled manufacturing ecosystems.

The appointment comes as European technology leaders accelerate investment in automation, cloud-based analytics and industrial software to improve efficiency and resilience. Private equity firms have concentration in European tech investments, with strategic hiring of operators who can translate operating discipline into scalable growth. Warburg Pincus's European Technology group is positioned to benefit from secular demand for digital transformation across manufacturing, energy and infrastructure sectors.

With an MBA from Wake Forest University, the Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School, and engineering credentials from Université de Metz and HTW Saar, Mr. Herweck embodies the blend of operational excellence and technical acumen that modern PE platforms seek.
