OMERS Infrastructure has announced the appointment of Sara Petrov as its new Managing Director, Debt Capital Markets. In this role, Petrov will have global responsibility for developing and managing OMERS Infrastructure’s financing partner relationships and supporting the global investments teams in financing activities at the initial acquisition and throughout each portfolio company’s growth and lifecycle. Petrov brings over 15 years of experience in the debt capital markets. She began her career at CIBC World Markets in Toronto, where she spent more than 2.5 years. She then moved to Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York, dedicating nearly 13 years to the firm. During her tenure, she held several positions, most recently serving as a Managing Director in the Leveraged Finance team.

Beyond her professional achievements, Petrov was a Canadian National Team athlete, having spent seven years on the Canadian junior and senior national synchronized swimming teams. She represented Canada in multiple world championships and secured a bronze medal at the 2001 FINA World Aquatic Games in the team event.

Petrov holds a degree in Economics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and earned her MBA from the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management.
