OEM International Acquires Italian Paper Component Maker Weingrill

OEM International AB, a prominent Nordic industrial components distributor, has strategically expanded its European reach by securing a majority interest in Italy's Weingrill Srl. This significant move, slated for completion on March 18, 2026, represents OEM International's inaugural venture into the Italian market and simultaneously marks its entry into the specialized paper industry sector.

Founded in 1952 and headquartered in Pinerolo, Italy, Weingrill Srl has established itself as a key manufacturer of essential paper industry components. Their product portfolio includes sophisticated screw-jacks, alongside critical systems for cleaning, stretching, and guiding paper during production. The company, which employs a dedicated team of 32 professionals, generates approximately EUR 7.7 million in annual sales, with a notable portion of its revenue, over half, originating from international clients, underscoring its global appeal.

Under the terms of the agreement, OEM International will acquire a controlling stake in Weingrill Srl. Importantly, the deal includes an option for OEM International to purchase the remaining shares at a later juncture, signaling a long-term commitment to the Italian enterprise. The outgoing CEO of Weingrill Srl, Alberto Brivio, will remain involved as a shareholder, ensuring continuity and leveraging his extensive experience.

Jorgen Zahlin, CEO of OEM International, highlighted the strategic advantages of this acquisition. He stated that the integration of Weingrill Srl will substantially broaden the company's geographical footprint and unlock new avenues for business development. The transaction is anticipated to contribute positively, albeit modestly, to OEM International's earnings for the current fiscal year, reflecting the immediate financial synergy expected from the deal.

The paper machinery components market, while mature, continues to see innovation driven by demands for increased efficiency, sustainability, and automation.
