Neros Raises $250M for US Drone Manufacturing

Neros Technologies has successfully closed a substantial $250 million Series C funding round, propelling its mission to establish a robust domestic drone manufacturing capability. This significant capital infusion values the company at $2.5 billion post-money, underscoring investor confidence in its strategic importance to national defense and allied security initiatives.

The financing was jointly led by prominent venture capital firms Sequoia Capital and American Strategic Technology Fund (ASTF). A strong syndicate of sophisticated investors also participated, including Interlagos, Valor Equity Partners, Allen & Company, Thiel Capital, Spark Capital, and individual investor Dylan Field. This broad support highlights a consensus on the critical need for advanced, domestically produced unmanned aerial systems.

Neros is strategically positioned to address a growing demand for credible deterrence by building a significant industrial base for drones within the United States. The company has ambitious plans to scale production to one million drones annually by 2028. This output will encompass a diverse range of capabilities, from long-range strike platforms to close-quarters combat drones and interceptor systems, catering to evolving battlefield requirements.

The company's traction is already evident through major existing contracts with key branches of the U.S. military, including the Army and Marine Corps, as well as all components of the Special Operations Command (SOCOM). Beyond domestic engagements, Neros is actively forging partnerships with allied nations, extending its reach through its UK subsidiary and collaborating with partners across Asia and the Middle East. These international agreements support sovereign manufacturing objectives and bolster collective defense capabilities.

The defense technology sector, particularly in unmanned systems, is experiencing accelerated growth driven by geopolitical tensions and the increasing recognition of drone warfare's efficacy. The global military drone market is projected to reach hundreds of billions of dollars in the coming decade, with a significant portion allocated to advanced manufacturing and domestic production initiatives.
