Analysis
Founded in 2017, CleanPeak delivers integrated solar-and-storage systems for blue-chip corporates and operates over 50 distributed generation sites, comprising more than 140 MW of solar assets and 35 MWh of battery energy storage. The company is actively managing A$200 million in construction projects, with plans for further expansion through bolt-on acquisitions.
Neil Arora, Partner and Head of KKR’s Asia climate strategy, said the collaboration will unlock new pathways for decarbonisation and energy efficiency. KKR will provide capital, operational expertise, and access to a global energy platform to scale CleanPeak’s offerings.
Philip Graham, CEO of CleanPeak, emphasized that KKR is the ideal partner to support CleanPeak’s next phase of growth, especially in delivering net-zero energy solutions. Jon Hare, COO, noted the value in reducing network costs and enabling competitive pricing for enterprise customers.
The deal is KKR’s sixth under its climate strategy and follows over US$34 billion in sustainability investments globally. Previous deals include Zenobē (UK transport electrification), EGC (Germany energy services), Avantus (US solar plus storage), and IGNIS P2X (industrial decarbonisation).
In Asia-Pacific, the CleanPeak partnership signals KKR’s increased focus on distributed infrastructure and low-carbon energy systems. The deal is expected to close in H2 2025 pending regulatory approvals.
