Analysis
Innova Capital, a private equity firm based in Central Europe, has announced the successful closure of its latest fund, Innova/7, raising a total of EUR 407 million. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Innova, as it surpasses both the initial target of EUR 350 million and the hard cap of EUR 400 million. Despite facing a challenging fundraising environment, the firm managed to attract a diverse group of investors, including foreign institutional and commercial players from Europe and North America, as well as Polish investors, who now hold over 25% of the total share.
The fund's strategic focus is on three key sectors: business and financial services, industrials, and consumer & lifestyle (including healthcare), with a priority on digitization and modern technology integration in each sector. In addition, the fund is guided by Innova's new ESG strategy, which emphasizes the identification of ESG-driven growth opportunities and thorough risk assessment.
Krzysztof Kulig, Senior Partner at Innova Capital, expressed gratitude to both long-standing and recent investors, as well as institutions, entrepreneurs, and family offices for their confidence in the firm. He also highlighted the support of partners who have been instrumental in the firm's success over the years.
Innova/7 has already made its first investment in NETOPIA Group, a Romanian payment services provider, and has additional investments in companies such as R-GOL, EMI Group, Pfleiderer Polska, Dimark Manufacture S.A., and CloudFerro. The firm has also delivered significant liquidity to its investors with fully divested Innova/5 and its first large exit from Innova/6. Plans for the future include using the assets remaining in the sixth fund to make further acquisitions within the existing portfolio.
Innova Capital's successful fund closure and strategic investments signal a promising future for the firm, as it looks forward to aiding Central European companies in their strategic evolution and seizing new growth opportunities. With a strong focus on ESG principles and technological innovation, Innova/7 is well-positioned to drive value within its portfolio companies and contribute to the growth of the region's economy.
