Analysis

Infinity Ventures, a venture capital firm with offices in San Francisco and New York City, has announced that Kamran Ansari will join as Venture Partner, bringing his deep fintech and commerce network to support the next wave of innovation.

With the firm expanding its presence in New York following the closing of its $184 million Fund II in October 2024, Ansari’s role will be central in sourcing and supporting infrastructure and fintech investments while strengthening relationships among founders, corporates, and institutional investors across the U.S., Europe, and beyond. The Fund II raise marks a significant milestone for Infinity as it aims to scale its “operators-first, investors-second” strategy globally.

Infinity Ventures was spun out of PayPal’s Ventures and Corporate Development operations. Over the past decade, Ansari has collaborated with the same team across Venmo, Braintree, and subsequent co‑investments like Rainforest, Pagos, and Vinyl Equity. His deep domain familiarity with the firm’s strategy and team gives him a unique bridge role as Infinity pushes further into fintech infrastructure.

Before this move, Ansari was the Founder & Managing Partner at Kapital Ventures (2018–2025), where he led early-stage bets across fintech globally. He also served as Venture Partner at Headline VC (2023–2025) and spent over ten years at Greycroft (2012–2023) in various investment and leadership roles. His earlier career included strategic posts at Pinterest (2015–2018) as Head of Corporate Development and Strategy, and stints at McKinsey, Morgan Stanley, and Disney Feature Animation.

The move positions Infinity Ventures to deepen presence in key hubs like New York, Silicon Valley, London, and increasingly emerging fintech centers. With digital payments and embedded finance still underpenetrated in many global markets, Ansari is likely to help bridge capital and operational support in those regions.

In joining Infinity at this juncture, Ansari and the firm aim to fuel fintech innovation at a global scale — leveraging his track record of early investments, operational experience, and historic ties to the founding team to support founders from seed through Series A.

A Yale and Stanford alumnus, Kamran is a frequent commentator on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, and other leading media outlets. He brings a rare blend of investor and operator perspectives to support Infinity's mission to back the next generation of fintech and commerce builders.
