Analysis

BDx Data Centers is significantly bolstering its digital infrastructure across Asia with a substantial $320 million loan facility. This strategic financing underscores the escalating demand for advanced data center capabilities, particularly those engineered to support the intensive computational needs of artificial intelligence.

The capital infusion is earmarked for critical expansion projects, with a primary focus on the CGK3 data center campus in Jakarta, Indonesia. This facility, which commenced operations in September 2025, is specifically designed for high-density computing, incorporating sophisticated liquid-cooling systems essential for next-generation AI workloads. This investment positions BDx to capture a larger share of the rapidly growing AI market in Southeast Asia.

Further allocation of the funds will address debt refinancing and crucially, expand power capacity at BDx's existing Jatiluhur (CGK4) and Suryacipta (CGK5) campuses. The combined power output at these sites is set to reach 1.2 GVA, a significant increase designed to meet the voracious appetite of hyperscale cloud providers and AI-centric enterprises operating within the region.

This significant financial backing was facilitated by a consortium of prominent lenders, including Bank Permata, Bank Central Asia, and KB Bank. Their commitment highlights confidence in BDx's expansion strategy and the robust growth trajectory of the digital infrastructure sector in Southeast Asia, a region increasingly vital for global data processing and cloud services.

Mayank Srivastava, CEO of BDx Data Centers, commented on the financing, stating it reflects "continued confidence in the company's strategy to build infrastructure for AI-driven growth." He emphasized the company's dedication to developing advanced cooling solutions and scalable power infrastructure, critical components for high-density computing environments that are becoming the industry standard.

BDx Data Centers currently manages a considerable network of 18 operational data centers and 50 edge sites spanning Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The company also possesses a development pipeline with land holdings capable of supporting over 1.2 GVA of additional grid capacity, signaling ambitious future growth plans. The $320 million facility represents one of the largest debt financings for data center development in Southeast Asia, a testament to the region's burgeoning digital economy and the critical role of advanced data centers in its evolution.
