San Francisco-based Ambience Healthcare, an industry leader in providing AI-powered solutions for healthcare systems, has secured $243 million in a Series C funding round. The investment, led by Oak HC/FT and Andreessen Horowitz, aims to accelerate the deployment of Ambience's AI platform, designed to revolutionize clinical and administrative workflows throughout health systems nationwide.

The funding round saw participation from existing investors such as the OpenAI Startup Fund, Kleiner Perkins, and Optum Ventures. New investors included Frist Cressey Ventures, Town Hall Ventures, Smash Capital, Georgian, and Founders Circle Capital.

Ambience's platform is built with an understanding that healthcare systems are complex, multifaceted entities encompassing ambulatory clinics, emergency departments, and inpatient hospitals. Each has its own specific workflows, specialties, and needs. The AI platform integrates directly with the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to adapt to the unique context of each care setting and specialty, without necessitating workflow redesign or staff retraining.

From its foundations in ambient scribing, Ambience has evolved into the leading end-to-end platform for documentation, coding, and clinical workflow support across the entire continuum of care. It presently supports over 100 ambulatory subspecialties, emergency departments, and inpatient specialties, producing structured, compliant documentation that enhances clinical quality, reduces administrative burden, and optimizes revenue-cycle performance. The platform employs proprietary AI reasoning models purpose-built to handle the nuanced regulatory, clinical, and operational demands of real-world healthcare.
