AD Ports Group Acquires MBS Logistics for $81.7 Million

AD Ports Group is significantly expanding its European reach with the planned acquisition of Germany-based MBS Logistics. The deal, valued at an enterprise value of AED300 million ($81.7 million), will see the Abu Dhabi-based logistics giant take full ownership of MBS Logistics' core operations, excluding its joint ventures. This strategic move is designed to bolster AD Ports Group's global footprint and operational capacity, particularly within the crucial Central European market.

The acquisition of MBS Logistics, a provider of integrated global logistics services with a strong presence in Germany and Central Europe, is expected to unlock substantial revenue and cost synergies. By integrating MBS Logistics' established network, which spans key German multimodal hubs and extends to China, Vietnam, and the United States, AD Ports Group anticipates enhanced cross-selling opportunities and greater procurement leverage. This move aligns with the group's broader strategy, under the leadership of Logistics Cluster CEO Jochen Thewes, to pursue value-accretive acquisitions alongside organic growth.

MBS Logistics reported revenues of approximately EUR205 million ($870 million) in 2025, operating with an asset-light model focused on freight forwarding. The company brings nearly four decades of industry experience, a network of 26 global offices, and a team of over 450 professionals. This addition complements Noatum Logistics, AD Ports Group's existing logistics arm, which boasts over 80 owned offices in 26 countries and a workforce exceeding 4,250 specialists. The combined entity will offer a more comprehensive suite of services, including air, ocean, road, and rail freight, alongside contract logistics and customs compliance.

The German market, being the third-largest global economy, presents a vital entry point for AD Ports Group. The integration of MBS Logistics provides immediate access to key European logistics corridors and a strong domestic base. This strategic positioning is expected to facilitate further expansion into other European markets, including the Nordics, Benelux, Switzerland, and Eastern Europe. Furthermore, MBS Logistics' existing operations in China and Vietnam will enhance AD Ports Group's capabilities on major Asia-Europe and Trans-Pacific trade routes.

This acquisition also diversifies AD Ports Group's industry exposure. While the group already serves sectors like automotive and retail, the addition of MBS Logistics brings expertise in the aerospace sector, a new segment for AD Ports Group. This broadened industry reach, combined with enhanced network density and operational scale, positions the combined entity to compete more effectively for larger global accounts and deliver greater reliability and efficiency to clients navigating complex global supply chains. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval from the European Union and is anticipated to conclude in the latter half of 2026.
