Accenture Acquires McCoy to Expand Mid-Market SAP Services

Accenture is significantly expanding its capabilities within the European mid-market by acquiring McCoy, a Netherlands-based consultancy specializing in SAP solutions. This strategic move injects over 380 SAP experts into Accenture Edge, the firm's dedicated platform for mid-sized businesses, aiming to enhance its offerings in SAP modernization and artificial intelligence across the region.

The integration of McCoy, established in 2012 and with operations extending to Spain and the Philippines, will bolster Accenture's presence in the Benelux region and across EMEA. McCoy brings a comprehensive suite of services, including the design, implementation, and management of SAP systems covering enterprise resource planning, data analytics, and managed services. As an SAP Gold Partner, the firm has a proven track record with mid-market clients in sectors such as high-tech, manufacturing, public sector, utilities, and retail.

This acquisition is particularly timely as mid-market companies increasingly view SAP modernization and AI integration as intertwined strategic imperatives for growth. Accenture Edge, which targets companies with annual revenues between $300 million and $3 billion, will leverage McCoy's deep SAP knowledge and established client relationships. The combined entity aims to accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies, enabling clients to streamline core business operations and embed AI capabilities more effectively.

McCoy's proprietary accelerators, such as SmartERP and McCoy Integration Studio, are expected to play a crucial role in standardizing implementation processes, reducing project complexity, and speeding up SAP transformation initiatives. These tools, coupled with McCoy's team of over 380 professionals, will be integrated into Accenture's broader technology and AI framework. This synergy is designed to deliver tailored, pre-built solutions that address the specific needs of mid-market organizations, including system modernization, cybersecurity enhancements, and operational simplification.

The deal also strengthens Accenture's joint initiative with SAP, known as Advance, which provides packaged services specifically designed for mid-sized organizations. By combining McCoy's specialized SAP expertise with Accenture's global reach and advanced technological platforms, the firm is positioning itself to capture a larger share of the growing mid-market digital transformation services sector. This sector is experiencing robust demand as businesses seek to leverage technology for competitive advantage.

The transaction is subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Executives from both companies expressed optimism about the integration. Nicole van Det, CEO of Accenture Netherlands and Nordics, highlighted the alignment of SAP modernization and AI for mid-market growth, while Srini Subramanian, CEO of Accenture Edge, emphasized McCoy's entrepreneurial culture and mid-market focus as key to the strategy for Europe.
