About This Role

Wellington Management is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join its Venture Growth Evergreen (VGE) team focused on secondary transactions in New York. Wellington has been investing in private markets since 2003 and today manages approximately $11 billion in private assets, making it the fastest-growing investment group within the firm.

About Venture Growth Evergreen:

VGE is a new strategy focused on investing in a highly diversified portfolio of growth and venture stage businesses through a perpetual vehicle targeting the wealth management channel. The strategy includes investments in LP transactions, GP-led secondaries, and secondary directs across growth and venture stages.

Role Overview:

This role will be involved in all aspects of the investment process, with a core focus on deal-level modeling and underwriting across a broad set of investments including growth and venture secondary transactions. The successful candidate will execute in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing key focus areas across multiple sectors, strategies, and size ranges.

Key Responsibilities:

- Source and evaluate secondary investment opportunities across LP portfolios, GP-led transactions, and secondary directs

- Lead financial modeling and underwriting for growth and venture stage secondaries

- Conduct due diligence on underlying portfolio companies across sectors

- Prepare investment memos and present recommendations to the investment committee

- Monitor existing portfolio investments and support value creation initiatives

- Develop and maintain relationships with GPs, placement agents, and other market participants

Qualifications:

- 2-4 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or private markets

- Strong financial modeling skills including LBO analysis and cash flow modeling

- Experience with secondary transactions, fund-of-funds, or growth equity preferred

- Excellent analytical and communication skills

- Ability to underwrite a high volume of transactions across multiple sectors and strategies
