Director, Portfolio Operations

Role Overview

Vidia Equity is a Munich-based private equity firm that invests in mid-market companies contributing to the decarbonization of the economy, combining capital with hands-on operational experience. The firm is hiring a Director of Portfolio Operations to drive value creation across its portfolio companies from entry to exit.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as Vidia's dedicated lead for the development and operational value creation of individual portfolio companies, from entry through exit

- Provide coaching, sparring, and strategic support to management teams, with a deep understanding of their business models and potential

- Implement the value creation roadmap for supported portfolio companies, with a hands-on focus on mid-market-appropriate initiatives

- Build and maintain strong relationships with portfolio company management

- Act as a sparring partner for on-site operations managers, particularly in critical or complex strategic situations

- Coordinate closely with Vidia's Partners and its Investment, Impact, and Value Creation teams

Qualifications

- 8+ years of experience in the operational support of mid-market companies, ideally in an entrepreneurial leadership, consulting, or value-creation role

- Demonstrated experience developing and executing value-creation, transformation, or performance-improvement programs

- Strong project management skills across multiple parallel, complex initiatives

- Affinity for digitalization, with practical experience deploying digital tools, process automation, and data-driven steering (ERP, BI/reporting, performance dashboards)

- Willingness to work on-site with portfolio companies roughly 3-4 days per week

- German language proficiency at C1 level or above, fluent English
