About This Role
Temasek is a global investment company headquartered in Singapore, with a net portfolio value of S$518 billion (US$401 billion) as at 31 March 2026. Guided by its purpose 'So Every Generation Prospers,' Temasek seeks to build a resilient, forward-looking portfolio that delivers sustainable returns over the long term, operating from 13 offices across 9 countries including Beijing, Mumbai, Shanghai, Singapore, London, New York, Paris and San Francisco.
This 12-month contract role sits within Temasek's Innovation team, which invests in funds, platforms and direct investment opportunities across the global venture and growth-stage ecosystem, backing disruptive technologies and category-defining companies with a core geographic focus on North America, Europe and Southeast Asia.
Key responsibilities include supporting the team in identifying sectoral developments and assessing fund and direct-investment opportunities in early-stage and high-growth sectors; conducting research and financial analysis on assigned sub-sectors and companies; developing financial models and presentations for internal evaluation and investment committees; structuring and executing new fund and direct investments as well as divestments where appropriate; monitoring existing portfolio assets and new investments against investment theses; building and maintaining relationships with companies, fund partners, research analysts and other institutions, including through travel; and assisting with regular portfolio reporting and firm-wide strategic initiatives.
Temasek is looking for candidates with excellent academic qualifications in any discipline and a genuine passion for investing, along with 1-2 years of full-time experience in venture capital/private equity, investment banking or corporate finance. Strong financial modelling capabilities — including building operating, valuation and return models to assess investment opportunities, portfolio performance and potential exit outcomes — are required, along with strong interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills, the ability to work well within diverse teams, and self-starter qualities to manage multiple priorities independently. Familiarity with data sources and tools such as Bloomberg, Factiva, Capital IQ, Pitchbook, Preqin and Microsoft Office is expected.
