Vice President, Investment Research - Private Equity

Heitman offers a significant opportunity for a Vice President, Investment Research to play a pivotal role in shaping investment strategy and decision-making within its private equity platform. This position is central to identifying and evaluating compelling investment opportunities across various sectors, contributing directly to the firm's growth and success.

The Role:
As Vice President, Investment Research, you will be responsible for leading comprehensive research initiatives that inform Heitman's private equity investment decisions. Your work will involve deep dives into market trends, industry landscapes, and specific company fundamentals to uncover actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative research on potential private equity investments, including market analysis, competitive landscapes, and industry trends.
* Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models for valuation, return analysis, and scenario planning.
* Prepare detailed investment memos, presentations, and reports for internal investment committees and external stakeholders.
* Perform thorough due diligence on prospective investment targets, assessing business models, management teams, and financial performance.
* Monitor existing portfolio companies and relevant market developments, providing ongoing analysis and recommendations.
* Identify and evaluate new investment themes and strategies consistent with the firm's private equity mandate.
* Collaborate closely with deal origination teams, portfolio management, and senior leadership to integrate research findings into the investment process.
* Mentor and guide junior research staff, fostering a culture of analytical excellence.
Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will possess a proven track record in investment research within the private equity or a closely related investment environment. You will demonstrate exceptional analytical capabilities, a strong command of financial modeling and valuation methodologies, and the ability to articulate complex findings clearly and concisely. A deep understanding of private equity investment cycles and value creation drivers is essential. Candidates should also possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey research findings and recommendations to various stakeholders. An advanced degree in finance, economics, or a related field, or a CFA designation, is highly desirable.
Location & Compensation:
This position is based in Hong Kong, Hong Kong. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications.
