A leading confidential private equity firm is seeking a Head of Private Equity Secondaries to establish and drive its dedicated secondaries investment strategy. The Head of Private Equity Secondaries will be instrumental in developing and executing the firm's strategic vision for its dedicated secondaries investment platform. This pivotal role demands a seasoned professional capable of comprehensive leadership across all facets of the secondaries investment cycle.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Direction & Platform Development:* Define and implement the firm’s private equity secondaries investment strategy, identifying new market opportunities, developing investment theses for both LP and GP-led transactions, and building out the infrastructure necessary to support a best-in-class secondaries platform.

Investment Sourcing & Execution:* Lead all stages of the investment process from origination to close. This involves proactive deal sourcing, rigorous due diligence, complex financial modeling and valuation, structuring sophisticated transactions, negotiating terms with counterparties, and overseeing legal documentation and execution.

Team Leadership & Talent Management:* Recruit, build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of investment professionals dedicated to secondaries. Foster a collaborative and analytical culture, promoting continuous professional development and accountability.

Portfolio Management & Value Creation:* Oversee the ongoing management, monitoring, and reporting of the secondaries portfolio. Drive value creation initiatives post-acquisition and ensure robust risk management practices are in place.

Investor Relations & Fundraising Contribution:* Actively engage with existing and prospective institutional limited partners, articulating the firm’s secondaries strategy, investment philosophy, and performance. Contribute significantly to fundraising efforts for future secondaries vehicles.

Industry Representation & Thought Leadership:* Cultivate and maintain extensive relationships with general partners, limited partners, placement agents, and other key industry participants. Represent the firm at industry conferences and provide market insights on private equity secondaries trends and opportunities.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive, demonstrable experience in private equity secondaries investing, with a proven track record of successful transaction execution and portfolio management across various secondaries strategies. Strong leadership capabilities, a strategic mindset, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this senior leadership role.
