Key Opportunity: Director, VC Fund LP Investment
This is a strategic opportunity for an accomplished investment professional to drive venture capital fund investments for a leading Japanese financial institution. As a Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the firm's venture capital exposure, identifying and securing partnerships with top-tier global VC funds, and contributing to the long-term growth of a significant capital base. The Firm:
You will join a Confidential Japanese Mega Bank, a globally recognized financial institution with substantial assets and a strategic commitment to expanding its presence across key alternative asset classes, including Venture Capital. The bank is systematically building out its investment capabilities, offering a stable yet growth-oriented environment for experienced professionals to make a tangible impact. This role is a critical component of the bank's broader strategy to access innovation and generate superior returns through sophisticated fund investments.
Key Responsibilities:
As Director of VC Fund LP Investment, your responsibilities will encompass the full lifecycle of venture capital fund investments:
Fund Sourcing & Evaluation:* Proactively identify, research, and screen global venture capital funds across various stages and geographies that align with the bank's investment objectives.
Due Diligence:* Conduct comprehensive qualitative and quantitative due diligence on prospective funds, assessing General Partner teams, investment strategies, portfolio construction, governance, historical performance, and legal terms. This includes detailed financial analysis and market research.
Investment Recommendation:* Develop compelling investment proposals and present well-reasoned recommendations to internal investment committees, articulating risks and opportunities.
Negotiation & Execution:* Lead and support the negotiation of fund terms, legal documentation, and closing processes with General Partners and legal counsel.
Portfolio Management & Monitoring:* Monitor existing fund investments, track performance metrics, and maintain ongoing engagement with General Partners. Provide regular portfolio updates and performance analyses to internal stakeholders.
Relationship Management:* Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with General Partners, limited partners, and other key participants within the global venture capital ecosystem.
Strategy Contribution:* Contribute to the formulation and refinement of the bank's overall venture capital investment strategy and asset allocation framework.
Location & Compensation:
