An exceptional opportunity is available for a highly accomplished Investment Director specializing in infrastructure. A prominent confidential infrastructure private equity fund, represented by Infra-Be, is seeking a leader to significantly expand its investment activities within the German market. This Director-level position is central to the fund’s strategic growth, focusing on the full investment lifecycle within the private equity infrastructure asset class.

The Investment Director will be responsible for spearheading the origination and execution of private equity investments across various infrastructure sub-sectors in Germany. This role demands a comprehensive skill set and a proactive approach to identifying and capitalizing on investment opportunities. Key responsibilities include:

Deal Sourcing and Origination:* Proactively identify, evaluate, and develop new investment opportunities within the German infrastructure landscape. This involves cultivating and maintaining robust relationships with industry participants, project sponsors, financial institutions, and advisory firms to build a strong deal pipeline.

Due Diligence and Analysis:* Lead comprehensive financial, commercial, technical, legal, and regulatory due diligence processes for potential investments. Conduct rigorous financial modeling, valuation analysis, and risk assessment to inform sound investment decisions and ensure alignment with the fund's investment criteria.

Transaction Execution:* Structure, negotiate, and execute complex private equity transactions from initial term sheet development through to financial close. This includes coordinating internal and external legal counsel, financial advisors, and other consultants to ensure efficient and successful transaction completion, adhering to investment mandates and risk parameters.

Portfolio Management:* Actively contribute to the strategic oversight and value creation initiatives for existing portfolio companies. Work closely with management teams to drive operational improvements, implement strategic plans, monitor performance against key metrics, participate in board-level discussions, and prepare for optimal exit strategies.

Market Intelligence:* Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics within the German and broader European infrastructure sector to inform investment strategy and identify emerging opportunities.

Team Leadership:* Mentor and guide junior investment professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment within the investment team.

The successful candidate will possess a distinguished track record in infrastructure private equity or a closely related investment field, demonstrating a proven ability to originate, execute, and manage infrastructure investments. A deep understanding of the German market, its regulatory environment, and key stakeholders is essential. Candidates must exhibit strong analytical capabilities, superior financial modeling expertise, and exceptional negotiation and communication skills. Fluency in both German and English is a prerequisite.
