Vice President, Private Equity – Brookfield (Toronto, Canada)

Brookfield, a leading global alternative asset manager with over $900 billion in assets under management, is seeking a Vice President for its Private Equity team in Toronto, Canada. This is a significant opportunity for an accomplished investment professional to play a pivotal role in the acquisition, management, and realization of substantial private equity investments across diverse sectors. The role offers direct involvement in principal investing, working alongside senior leaders on complex transactions and value creation initiatives within a globally recognized firm known for its operational expertise and long-term investment horizon.

The Vice President will be integral to all phases of the private equity investment lifecycle, contributing to the growth and performance of the firm's private equity portfolio. Core responsibilities include:

Investment Sourcing and Evaluation:* Identifying and assessing new investment opportunities, conducting comprehensive industry and market research, and developing robust investment theses. This involves a deep understanding of market trends, competitive landscapes, and potential value drivers.

Financial Analysis and Modeling:* Performing detailed financial modeling, valuation analysis, and return projections to support investment decisions. Candidates will be expected to construct complex financial models from first principles and present clear, data-backed insights.

Due Diligence Management:* Leading and coordinating extensive due diligence processes, encompassing commercial, financial, legal, tax, environmental, social, and operational reviews. This requires managing external advisors and internal teams to identify key risks and opportunities.

Transaction Execution:* Assisting in structuring and negotiating transaction terms, preparing comprehensive investment committee memoranda, and managing deal closing processes efficiently and effectively.

Portfolio Management:* Actively monitoring the performance of portfolio companies, identifying and implementing strategic initiatives for value creation, and supporting management teams in achieving operational and financial objectives. This includes involvement in capital allocation decisions and exit planning.

Team Leadership and Mentorship:* Mentoring and guiding junior investment professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment within the investment team.

Stakeholder Engagement:* Building and maintaining relationships with management teams of target and portfolio companies, investment banking advisors, legal counsel, and co-investors.

This position is based in Brookfield's Toronto, Canada office.
