About This Role

AURELIUS is a global investor known for its operational approach, focused on private markets, particularly the Private Equity and Private Debt segments. Its key investment platforms include AURELIUS Opportunities V, AURELIUS European Opportunities IV, AUR Portfolio III, and AURELIUS Wachstumskapital (Growth Capital). AURELIUS has grown strongly in recent years, particularly internationally, and now employs more than 400 people across 10 locations in Europe, North America, and Asia.

To strengthen the operating team of AURELIUS Wachstumskapital, the firm is looking for a (Senior) Managing Director to join at the earliest possible date, focused on Buy & Build, Value Creation, and Portfolio Management.

As Senior Managing Director, the successful candidate is a key player in AURELIUS's business model, combining the roles of PE investor and operating entrepreneur. The role carries end-to-end responsibility for 2-4 of the firm's platform investments, from closing to exit, acting as the single point of contact for management, partners, and investors.

Responsibilities include: platform ownership as a true "company builder" — defining platform strategy, recruiting group management, and driving the key value-creation levers of each platform; Buy & Build — developing and owning the add-on acquisition strategy; Value Creation — orchestrating the entire AURELIUS operating platform (Operations Task Force, Finance Task Force, Digital Factory, Recruiting, etc.) for maximum impact across platforms; Exit — owning the road to exit, from strategic preparation through to sale; and supporting the investment team on strategy and commercial due diligence for new platforms, shaping optimal financing structures (acquisition, growth, and refinancing) together with the Corporate Finance team.

The portfolio is built up gradually over 1-2 years. The role involves significant travel; relocation is not required.
