The Opportunity

500 Global, a prominent Venture Capital firm, is seeking a Partner, Climate to spearhead its investment strategy in the critical and rapidly evolving climate technology sector. This is a pivotal leadership position offering the chance to shape investment direction, drive significant impact, and build a world-class portfolio of climate-focused ventures from our Abu Dhabi office. The successful candidate will play a central role in identifying and backing the next generation of companies addressing global climate challenges.

The Role

As Partner, Climate, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of investment activities within the climate sector. You will lead the development and execution of 500 Global’s climate investment thesis, leveraging your deep industry knowledge and extensive network to source, evaluate, and invest in high-potential early-stage companies globally, with a strategic emphasis on the MENA region. This role requires a blend of strategic vision, rigorous analytical capabilities, and hands-on operational engagement with founders and portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Strategy Development:* Formulate and refine 500 Global’s investment thesis and strategy for the climate technology sector, identifying key market trends, technological advancements, and compelling opportunities.

Deal Origination and Execution:* Lead proactive sourcing efforts to generate a robust pipeline of investment opportunities. Oversee comprehensive due diligence, valuation, structuring, and negotiation of investment terms, presenting recommendations to the Investment Committee.

Portfolio Management:* Provide active strategic guidance and support to portfolio companies, assisting with growth initiatives, talent acquisition, follow-on funding rounds, and eventual exit strategies.

Ecosystem Engagement:* Cultivate and expand a network of founders, entrepreneurs, limited partners, corporate partners, and key stakeholders within the global climate technology and venture capital ecosystems.

Thought Leadership:* Represent 500 Global at industry conferences and events, contributing to the firm's reputation as a leader in climate innovation and venture investing.

Team Leadership:* Mentor and build a high-performing investment team dedicated to the climate sector, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a distinguished track record in venture capital, private equity, or a related investment field, with a demonstrated expertise and passion for climate technology. Proven experience in leading complex investment processes, from origination to exit, is essential. A strategic mindset, strong analytical and communication skills, and an established network within the climate tech and broader venture capital communities are required.
