About This Fund
Ventures Platform Pan-African Fund II is the second pan-African venture capital fund managed by Ventures Platform, Nigeria's most active early-stage technology investor. The fund reached a first close of USD 64 million in November 2025, targeting a final close of USD 75 million, and is backed by a consortium of leading development finance institutions and institutional investors drawn to Africa's fast-growing technology ecosystem. Fund II expands upon the firm's inaugural fund by extending its geographic mandate across the African continent while deepening commitment to the firm's core sectors.
The fund concentrates on seed investments and catalysing Series A rounds in African technology companies addressing critical infrastructure gaps across financial services, healthcare, agriculture, education, and artificial intelligence. Ventures Platform's investment thesis is built around painkiller solutions — companies solving fundamental non-consumption challenges at the base of the digital economy pyramid — in markets where limited formal infrastructure creates outsized opportunity for digital-first businesses. The firm operates from Lagos with regional networks spanning East and West Africa, enabling both local insight and pan-continental deal flow.
Fund II has secured commitments from a distinguished group of development finance institutions and institutional investors, including the Nigeria Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) programme, International Finance Corporation (IFC), Standard Bank of South Africa, British International Investment (BII), Proparco (France's bilateral development finance institution), the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA), and AfricaGrow. This LP syndicate — representing governmental, multilateral, and bilateral DFIs alongside regional banks — constitutes a strong institutional endorsement of both Ventures Platform's local expertise and the broader African technology investment opportunity.
