Swiss Post Ventures

Swiss Post's CVC arm backing early-stage startups in logistics, mobility, cybersecurity and digital services since 2017.

About This Fund

Swiss Post Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of Swiss Post (Die Schweizerische Post AG), the Swiss state-owned postal, logistics and financial services conglomerate. Established in 2017 and headquartered in Bern, Switzerland, the program operates as an evergreen, balance-sheet-funded initiative — complementary to PostFinance Capital's own CVC activities — with a mandate to invest in early-stage technology companies that can extend Swiss Post's capabilities across its four core markets: communication, logistics, financial services, and passenger mobility. The program is led by Thierry Golliard (Director, Open Innovation and Venturing) and a team of investment and open-innovation professionals operating within Swiss Post's broader innovation division.

Swiss Post Ventures targets minority stakes in startups at the Pre-Series A through Series B stages, typically deploying initial tickets of CHF 0.5-2 million per company. The program pursues an explicitly strategic-financial model: portfolio companies gain access to Swiss Post's infrastructure, distribution network, and presence across more than fifteen countries as both a reference customer and commercial channel, while Swiss Post gains early visibility into emerging technology trends. Sector priorities are tightly aligned with Swiss Post's operational roadmap and span smart logistics and last-mile automation, urban mobility and transport analytics, cybersecurity and trust services, digital communications and HR technology, healthcare logistics, and sustainability-driven circular economy solutions. The program maintains a deliberately international orientation, with active investments across Switzerland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, and the United States.

Since inception Swiss Post Ventures has completed approximately 27 investments and recorded six exits, building a portfolio that exemplifies strategic corporate venture capital at its most effective. Notable portfolio companies include Starship Technologies (autonomous delivery robots) and Matternet (commercial drone logistics), both pioneers in last-mile automation. The program has generated several high-profile acquisitions: Bring! (digital coupon platform) and Hacknowledge (cybersecurity) were acquired by Swiss Post business units following successful strategic collaborations, while Metaco (institutional digital-asset infrastructure) was acquired by Ripple for USD 250 million and Beekeeper (frontline worker platform) was acquired by LumApps Group in a transaction valuing the combined entity at over USD 1 billion. The fund remains active, with recent deals including Roseman Labs (privacy-enhancing computation, 2025) and eMabler (EV charging software, 2026).
