Swiss Life Funds (LUX) ESG Global Infrastructure Opportunities Growth II

Swiss Life ESG Global Infrastructure Opportunities Growth II: EUR 560M first close, targeting EUR 1B.

About This Fund

Swiss Life Funds (LUX) ESG Global Infrastructure Opportunities Growth II is the second value-add infrastructure fund managed by Swiss Life Asset Managers, the investment arm of Swiss Life Group. The fund commenced fundraising in May 2023 and reached its first closing in December 2023 with capital commitments in excess of EUR 560 million, drawing from both existing investors in the predecessor fund and new institutional clients. The fund is targeting a final close at EUR 1 billion, building on the strong track record of the first value-add vehicle, which closed at EUR 792 million in total commitments. The fund is classified as Article 8 under the European Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), reflecting its commitment to environmental and social characteristics in portfolio construction and management. The fund is domiciled in Luxembourg.

The fund offers control and co-control investments in attractive small to mid-market value-add infrastructure assets with significant value creation potential across OECD markets. Geographic focus spans Europe and North America, with thematic concentration in three megatrends: digitalisation (data centres, fibre networks and digital connectivity), decarbonisation (renewable energy infrastructure and grid-enabling assets), and urban mobility (sustainable transport and logistics infrastructure). The fund targets unlisted infrastructure assets, enabling active asset management and value enhancement through operational improvements, capital expenditure programs and strategic repositioning. Investment sizes target the small to mid-market segment, where competition is lower and value creation potential is proportionally higher than in large-cap infrastructure.

Swiss Life Asset Managers has established a distinctive infrastructure capability within its EUR 115 billion-plus broader asset management platform. The infrastructure team manages a diversified portfolio spanning European and North American infrastructure across its fund series and separate account mandates. The first value-add fund's EUR 792 million close demonstrated strong institutional demand for the strategy, and the Growth II vehicle aims to capitalise on accelerating investment needs in digital and energy transition infrastructure across Europe and North America as public policy and private capital align behind these themes.
