About This Fund
Star America Infrastructure Fund II is a USD 700 million North American greenfield infrastructure fund managed by Star America Infrastructure Partners, now rebranded as Tikehau Star Infra Partners and operating as a subsidiary of global alternative asset manager Tikehau Capital SCA. The fund achieved its final close in January 2022, surpassing its USD 600 million target and raising more than double the size of its predecessor, Star America Infrastructure Fund I (USD 300 million, vintage 2016). The manager was co-founded in 2011 by Bill Marino and Christophe Petit and is headquartered in Roslyn Heights, New York. Fund II targets 15 to 20 investments with individual ticket sizes of USD 20 to 75 million in North American greenfield infrastructure projects spanning the transportation, social infrastructure, environmental, and telecommunications sectors, with a strong emphasis on public-private partnership (P3) transactions. The fund draws on the firm's track record of 16 infrastructure assets with combined project value exceeding USD 5 billion. Institutional investors include insurance companies, pension funds, Taft-Hartley plans, foundations, and family offices drawn from across North America. Named limited partners include Rhode Island State Treasury (USD 20 million) and the Central Pension Fund of the International Union of Operating Engineers. A parallel fund entity (USD 117.5 million) exists for non-US or tax-exempt investors. The fund's portfolio includes railroad holdings confirmed via Federal Register disclosures, reflecting the firm's active transportation sub-sector focus.
