About This Fund

Sixth Street Specialty Lending Europe III (SLE III) is the third and largest fund in Sixth Street's European direct lending series, achieving a final close at its hard cap of €3.75 billion in equity commitments on January 14, 2026, with total investable capital of approximately €7 billion including anticipated leverage. The fund is managed by Sixth Street, a global investment firm headquartered in San Francisco with over 700 employees and more than 300 investment professionals worldwide, operating across credit, equity, and other asset classes. Sixth Street has been active in European direct lending since 2015 and has deployed the strategy through three successive vehicles, with SLE III representing a significant scale-up from prior vintages.

SLE III provides customized direct lending solutions to companies across the United Kingdom and continental Europe, targeting both founder-owned businesses and sponsor-backed companies at various lifecycle stages. The fund targets transactions ranging from €30 million to more than €2 billion, underscoring its flexibility across deal sizes and capital structures. Key target sectors include software and technology, healthcare, consumer, industrials, and business services. The fund's strategy centers on providing bespoke financing that combines speed of execution with structural flexibility, allowing it to serve as the sole or lead capital provider for complex financing needs that traditional lenders cannot address.

Since the European direct lending strategy's inception in 2015, Sixth Street has completed more than 75 transactions across the UK and Europe, demonstrating a consistent sourcing and underwriting track record through multiple credit cycles. SLE III is led by Michael Griffin, Co-Head of Sixth Street Global Direct Lending and Head of European operations, and benefits from the integrated global platform connecting the European team with Sixth Street's North American credit and equity expertise. The fund is structured across multiple legal entities including both an (A) vehicle and a Luxembourg-domiciled (B) AIF, enabling access by a broad range of institutional limited partners.
