Sabadell Asabys II — €180M commercial name for the combined FCR+SCR program by Asabys Partners, targeting health innovation VC in Europe.

About This Fund

Sabadell Asabys II is the commercial name for the second investment program of Asabys Partners, the health innovation venture capital manager founded as a joint venture between Banco Sabadell and the Asabys team. The program closed at €180 million in September 2024, exceeding its €150 million objective, and consists of two parallel legal entities: the Sabadell Asabys Health Innovation Investments II FCR (Fondo de Capital-Riesgo, CNMV registration 393) and the Sabadell Asabys Health Innovation Investments 2B SCR SA (Sociedad de Capital-Riesgo, CNMV registration 472). A first close of €100 million was achieved in January 2023.

The program invests across the health innovation spectrum, focusing on three verticals: biopharmaceuticals addressing unmet medical needs with solid clinical evidence, medical devices and medtech, and digital health solutions. Portfolio companies span Spain, Europe, and international markets including the United States. The fund's scientific validation criteria set a high bar for entry, targeting companies with differentiated platforms and credible regulatory pathways in areas where patient need remains underserved.

Anchor institutional LPs include the European Investment Fund (EIF), FondICO Global, Innvierte Economía Sostenible, the Institut Català de Finances, and Alantra Investment Pool. Portfolio companies funded through the program include deepull, Orikine Bio, Gradient Denervation Technologies, ALLOX, and Augustine Therapeutics. The program marks a significant scale-up from the debut Sabadell Asabys I vehicle and validates Asabys Partners' position as a leading health innovation VC in Southern Europe.
