About This Fund
Sabadell Asabys Health Innovation Investments II (SAHII II) is the second venture capital fund of Asabys Partners, the health innovation specialist co-founded by Banco Sabadell and Asabys, registered with the CNMV as a Fondo de Capital-Riesgo (FCR) under registration number 393. Launched in late 2022 alongside a parallel corporate vehicle (the 2B SCR), the fund closed at €180 million in September 2024, exceeding its €150 million target in a challenging fundraising environment; the first close of €100 million was achieved in January 2023.
The fund targets early- and growth-stage companies in three healthcare verticals: biopharmaceuticals addressing unmet medical needs, medical devices and medtech, and digital health solutions underpinned by rigorous scientific evidence. Investments span companies from Spain, Europe, and international markets including the United States. Each portfolio company must demonstrate strong scientific foundations and a credible path to regulatory approval or commercial adoption, positioning the vehicle within the premium segment of European health innovation VC.
Asabys Partners has deployed into a diversified portfolio including deepull, Orikine Bio, Gradient Denervation Technologies, ALLOX, and Augustine Therapeutics. Key institutional LPs include the European Investment Fund (EIF), the Institut Català de Finances, Innvierte Economía Sostenible, FondICO Global, and Alantra Investment Pool. The CNMV-registered depository is BNP Paribas S.A., Sucursal en España.
