Rallyday Partners Fund I LP is the debut fund of Rallyday Partners, LLC, a Denver, Colorado-based private equity firm founded in 2019 and focused on growth equity investments in lower middle market companies across North America. The fund closed at $153 million in March 2020 following a six-month fundraising process, drawing capital from seven institutional investors including endowments, foundations, family offices, and outsourced chief investment office (OCIO) firms.
Rallyday Partners was built around a differentiated alignment model that challenges conventional private equity economics. The firm's founders committed 10% of their own capital to the fund—substantially above the typical GP commitment of approximately 2-3%—and replaced standard management fees with an annual budget approval process managed by the LP advisory board. This structure ensures management compensation is directly tied to value creation rather than fee income, creating an unusually strong convergence of interest between the general partner and its limited partners.
The fund targets minority and majority investments of $5 million to $50 million in North American companies generating $1 million to $10 million in EBITDA, with historical sector concentration in healthcare services, education and training, IT services, and tech-enabled business services. Portfolio companies are characterized by founder-driven leadership, compelling secular tailwinds, and scalable business models. Rallyday's investment team works closely alongside management to support operational, strategic, and financial improvements. Fund I made five platform investments and dozens of add-on acquisitions during its investment period, establishing the foundation for the $205 million successor Fund II.
