About This Fund
OTB Fund II is an early stage venture capital fund managed by OTB Ventures and based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The $185m fund raised by OTB Ventures will be invested in European startups in its four core areas: space tech, enterprise automation, cybersecurity, and fintech infrastructure. The NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) has invested in OTB Ventures, which is the alliance’s new €1bn vehicle to back dual-use technologies. Although OTB Ventures received investment from NIF, they emphasize that they are not becoming a dedicated defense investor. More and more, civilian technologies, such as space tech, cybersecurity, and AI, are finding applications in defense. OTB Ventures aims to invest not only in Central and Eastern Europe but also beyond the region. The fund will be used to back 15-20 startups at Series A, with up to 10% allocated for investments at seed stage. The first tickets will range from $1m to $7m, and more than 50% of the capital will be reserved for follow-ons. OTB Ventures has already invested in nine companies from its second fund. They have also secured two exits from their first fund and have been significantly oversubscribed for their second fund. The investors in OTB Ventures' second fund include the European Investment Fund, Isomer Capital, Foundation for Polish Science, TDJ Venture, Marcin Zukowski, cofounder of Snowflake, and OnDean, the family office started by Andrew Sieja, founder of software company Relativity.
