About This Fund
Juniper Capital's newest oil and gas fund is targeting lower middle-market exploration and production companies, as well as oil field services. The fund is focusing on distressed situations such as bankruptcies and corporate restructuring in the oil and gas industry. Juniper is looking to invest in up to 10 companies and will write checks as big as $150 million for a controlling interest in exploration and production companies, with investments in oil-field service companies also being considered. The fund has a target of a 25 IRR and 2.5 MOI. Their current investments are in seven oil drilling and exploration regions in Texas, Louisiana, Montana, Colorado, and Michigan, and have raised at least $235.5 million so far for its latest fund. The oil and gas industry is facing pressures to move away from fossil fuels, and traditional lenders are withholding support, providing an opportunity for private equity firms like Juniper Capital to invest in the sector.
