About This Fund
CMT Digital Fund IV is a $136 million early-stage venture capital fund dedicated to investments in blockchain infrastructure and applications enabling the next phase of crypto adoption and decentralized finance. CMT Digital is the venture investment division of CMT Group, a quantitative trading firm founded in 1997 whose data-driven, algorithmic risk management heritage distinguishes its investment process from traditional crypto venture funds. The fund closed in November 2025 after attracting capital from family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and institutional investors across the United States, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.
Fund IV targets founders building blockchain-native infrastructure for global markets, framing its thesis as the re-architecting of finance on distributed ledger technology. Investment themes span on-chain financial infrastructure, stablecoin ecosystems, tokenized asset markets, decentralized protocol development, and institutional-grade crypto tooling, with approximately 25 percent of deployed capital directed toward stablecoin-related startups. Ten investments were committed prior to the final close announcement, including FortyTwo, 1Money, D2X, Winston Artory Group, Odysseus, Zylu, Coinflow, and Andrena, reflecting an aggressive deployment pace through the fundraise.
CMT Digital's track record across four successive funds represents more than $600 million in total assets under management, growing from Fund I ($25.5 million) through Fund II ($130 million) and Fund III ($100 million) to Fund IV ($136 million). The portfolio includes notable early-stage winners in Circle (IPO, +167%), Figure (Nasdaq listing, +24%), Consensys, BitGo, FalconX, and dYdX. Fund IV was launched with a $150 million target and closed slightly below that mark, though CMT ultimately turned away certain investors due to allocation constraints at final close.
