About This Fund
Cactus Venture Partners Fund I is the debut vehicle of Cactus Venture Partners (CVP), a Mumbai-based early-stage venture capital firm co-founded by Anurag Goel, Amit Sharma, and Rajeev Kalambi. The fund reached its final close at Rs 630 crore (approximately $76 million USD) in February 2024, having first raised capital under SEBI (AIF) registration in 2020. Capital commitments are structured with 60% from domestic Indian LPs—including SIDBI, the Self-Reliant India (SRI) Fund, and the UP Startup Fund—and 40% from international limited partners predominantly based in the United States, Singapore, EU, and the United Kingdom. CVP focuses on purpose-driven entrepreneurs building for the Indian market, with a primary sector thesis spanning climate technology, health technology, and B2B SaaS. The fund invests at Series A and early Series B stages, targeting companies that have demonstrated product-market fit with scalable gross margin structures, with typical investment tickets of $2–5 million and a target portfolio of 8–10 companies. CVP's founding team brings entrepreneurial, investor, and banking experience to portfolio companies, emphasizing governance, systems, and operational discipline alongside capital provision. Portfolio companies include Kapture CRM, Vitraya, AMPM, Auric, Lohum, and Rubix—spanning enterprise software, health-tech, consumer wellness, and clean energy. The fund closed below its original Rs 750 crore target but secured strong government-backed LP participation through SIDBI and the SRI Fund.
