About This Fund
BluePeak Private Capital Fund II (BPCF II) is the second pan-African private credit and private equity fund raised by BluePeak Private Capital, a Lagos- and Nairobi-based alternative asset manager focused exclusively on high-growth, scalable businesses across sub-Saharan Africa. The fund announced its first close of $80 million in May 2025, led by four leading European Development Finance Institutions (EDFIs): British International Investment (BII, $30 million), FMO — the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank ($15 million), Swedfund ($20 million), and the Swiss Investment Fund for Emerging Markets (SIFEM, $15 million). The fund is continuing to raise capital toward its final close target, building on the success of its predecessor fund.
BluePeak Private Capital Fund II targets investments in mid-market companies across a range of sectors in Africa, with a primary focus on providing growth capital to established businesses that lack access to affordable long-term financing from traditional banking channels. The strategy combines private credit and private equity instruments, offering flexible structures tailored to the needs of African businesses at various stages of development. BPCF II builds on the track record established by Fund I, which reached its own final close at $156 million in October 2023 and successfully deployed capital across multiple countries and sectors on the continent.
The backing from four DFIs in Fund II's first close reflects strong multilateral confidence in BluePeak's ability to deploy institutional-grade capital responsibly across sub-Saharan Africa. These anchor investors bring not only capital but also technical assistance resources, governance standards, and development impact frameworks that align with BluePeak's mandate to generate both financial returns and measurable social and economic impact. With its dual focus on credit and equity, BPCF II is positioned to address the significant financing gap facing high-growth African SMEs and mid-market companies seeking growth capital.
