Arroyo Energy Investors Fund IV

Arroyo Energy Investors Fund IV: B+ infrastructure fund targeting power, LNG, digital infrastructure and dark fiber across North America and Chile.

About This Fund

Arroyo Energy Investors Fund IV (formally Arroyo Investors Fund IV, L.P., and affiliated vehicles) is a North America-focused energy infrastructure private equity fund managed by Arroyo Energy Investment Partners LLC, a Houston, Texas-based independent investment manager with more than three decades of experience in the power and energy infrastructure sector. The fund held its final close on July 1, 2025, securing more than $1 billion in total equity capital commitments across the main vehicle and co-investment vehicles. The investor base spans a diversified mix of institutional limited partners including endowments, foundations, family offices, fund of funds, insurance companies, and public and private pension systems — the Fire & Police Pension Association of Colorado, for example, committed $20 million with an additional $10 million earmarked for co-investments. Threadmark served as the fund's global placement agent, and this close represents a significant step-up in scale relative to the firm's predecessor vehicles.

Fund IV continues Arroyo's established strategy of acquiring controlling and significant minority equity interests in existing energy infrastructure companies and late-stage development projects, with a deliberate focus on assets exhibiting stable, predictable revenue and EBITDA profiles. The fund targets four core verticals: conventional and renewable power generation (including distributed and behind-the-meter solutions), liquefied natural gas infrastructure, digital infrastructure (data center development sites catering to hyperscale and AI-driven demand), and telecommunications infrastructure (dark fiber optic networks). Investments are sourced on a largely proprietary basis through the team's networks built across North America and Chile over more than 30 years of sector-specific deal origination. As of the final close announcement, Fund IV had already deployed capital into four initial portfolio companies: Seaside LNG (a shore-side liquefaction and LNG bunkering platform), Mesa Solutions (a distributed power generation provider), Cielo Digital Infrastructure (a portfolio of U.S. data center development sites), and Fermaca Networks (a cross-border dark fiber optic network under development spanning the United States and Mexico).

Arroyo Energy Investment Partners traces its origins to 2003 as a principal investing unit within Bear Stearns Companies before re-establishing as an independent manager. The firm launched its first independent fund, Arroyo Energy Investors Fund II (2015 vintage), followed by Fund III (2019 vintage), and has collectively sponsored nearly $2 billion in equity capital across predecessor vehicles, with total assets under management now exceeding $3 billion. Fund III's track record includes the realization of a 143 MW natural gas power plant in Mexico at a valuation exceeding $440 million, demonstrating the team's capacity to source, manage, and exit large-scale energy infrastructure assets at strong valuations. Concurrent with the Fund IV final close, Arroyo also announced the sale of an additional Fund III portfolio asset, evidencing active portfolio realization alongside new fund deployment.
