About This Fund
Arctos Sports Partners Fund II is the second flagship fund raised by Arctos, a Dallas-based private investment firm and the world's largest institutional vehicle exclusively dedicated to professional sports franchise investment. The fund announced its final close in April 2024 at over $4.1 billion in committed capital across the main fund, co-investment vehicles, and affiliated parallel vehicles — bringing Arctos' aggregate sports-related assets under management to approximately $7 billion across Fund I and Fund II. Evercore Private Funds Group acted as exclusive global placement agent and Kirkland & Ellis LLP provided legal counsel.
Arctos Sports Partners Fund II provides minority equity capital to professional sports franchises across North America and Europe, delivering bespoke growth and liquidity solutions alongside differentiated thought partnership and value creation services to franchise owners and league operators. The fund's strategy addresses the growing institutional demand for sports team ownership as an alternative asset class with returns uncorrelated to traditional markets. Arctos' investment mandate spans major North American professional sports leagues as well as select international franchises, participating in a structural shift as major leagues open ownership to institutional investors.
At final close, approximately 30% of Fund II was already invested, demonstrating active deployment. The global limited partner base includes leading pension funds, retirement systems, endowments, insurance companies, family offices, and global wealth management platforms. Fund II and its predecessor, Arctos Sports Partners Fund I, together represent the world's largest aggregation of institutional capital exclusively dedicated to professional sports franchise investments.
