About This Fund
Altor Fund VI is the sixth and largest private equity fund raised by Altor Equity Partners, a Stockholm-headquartered mid-market buyout manager with two decades of experience investing across the Nordic and DACH regions. Since its founding in 2003, Altor has built a consistent track record of 29% gross IRR and 3.0x money multiple on realized investments, establishing itself as one of the preeminent private equity platforms in Northern Europe. Altor Fund Manager AB is regulated by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority.
Altor Fund VI pursues the firm's core mid-market buyout strategy—investing in companies that can be transformed through strategic repositioning, operational improvements, and targeted acquisitions—while incorporating an enhanced focus on green transition investments. The fund is classified as Article 8 under the EU's Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation, reflecting its commitment to companies promoting environmental and social characteristics. Target portfolio companies typically generate revenues in the range of €50 million to €500 million, with the fund active across the Nordic countries and DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
Altor Fund VI closed in January 2024 at its hard cap of €3 billion, making it Altor's largest fundraise ever. The fund attracted capital from world-leading institutional investors and, within months of its final close, had already deployed more than one-third of committed capital across seven investments. Portfolio companies demonstrated 16% EBITA growth in 2023, reflecting the active operational value-creation model that distinguishes Altor's approach. The fund's scale positions it to pursue larger transformations and platform-building strategies than its predecessors.
